Excellence in Dementia Training for Care Homes & Domiciliary Care Agencies

Why choose Amber Academy Dementia Training?

Projections of care for older people with dementia in England.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) (.gov) projected that the number of individuals living in care homes will rise to 417,000 in 2025 and 667,000 in 2040, an increase of 166% over the 25-year period.

This is a shocking statistic, but it demonstrates a real need for excellence in dementia care. Families will always want to seek the best possible placement for their loved one and having a team that provide excellence in knowledge and care, demonstrate that they are care professionals and have the learning behind their skills is paramount for your service.

Amber Academy Dementia Training is a practical experience that will inform and educate your teams about dementia.  It isn’t about watching a ten minute tick box course on youtube or a formal exam.  Amber Academy Dementia Training is about real-life scenarios, real life examples and real life solutions to the challenges of dementia care.

I am passionate about dementia and educating as many people as possible about this incredibly challenging and debilitating disease.

My dementia training sessions give you practical examples of the right and the wrong way of approaching dementia care.  It will give you examples of the tools you need to help people living with dementia to have the most positive life experiences possible.  You will learn how to manage behaviours that challenge, and you will learn from my practical sessions around experiencing dementia at first hand.

We will discuss various scenarios that you have experienced and how the outcomes could have been different.  We will discuss how you are ‘feeling’ after a care shift with dementia, and we will talk about positive outcomes that are easy to achieve for everyone.

Amber Academy Dementia Training is interactive, enjoyable, understandable and you will honestly have some ‘lightbulb’ moments that help you truly understand this incredibly challenging disease and how it affects the person living with dementia, their family, their friends and the care team that are supporting them.
